The Barefoot Storyteller

Barefoot Storytelling celebrates the oral tradition of storytelling for children and adults alike, bringing a treasure trove of folktales to life with lots of improvisation and audience participation.

To join in with Barefoot Storytelling, all you need to bring is your imagination…

As The Barefoot Storyteller I tell tales at:

  • The Egg (Theatre Royal), Bath
  • schools
  • libraries across Wilthsire
  • museums
  • arts centres
  • nurseries & playgroups

A birthday party with The Barefoot Storyteller includes a story told orally (themes include princesses, pirates, faeries, dragons, knights, monsters...).  Then a craft session where the children make a prop related to the story (eg princess hat or monster mask).  Finally, we will tell the story again with lots of improvisation and participation from the children.  Such a session will typically last 1 hour.   In addition, The Barefoot Storyteller can also supply heavily discounted books as an alternative to party bags.
